Presence is the hallmark of all great leaders - but I bet you that you don't know what presence actually is! Is it something you're born with? No, it's something that anyone can learn. In essence, it simply means that you're more focused in the present than everyone else. By way of explanation, this workshop will explore how the normal mind is almost everywhere else except present - subconsciously buried in the past, worried about the future, distracted by random thought. Until you understand what's holding you back, you cannot move forward. And that is what this day is all about... moving forward to a state of mind that will enable you describe your goals in a way that will galvinize both you and those around you, will enable you moitvate yourself and others using the level of focus experienced by the world's top sports people and leaders, will enable you create and inspire a team that will rise to levels of achievement that could only be described as extraordinary. |
| What's Wrong with Ordinary? |
| Before getting into providing you with the necessary tools to become an impressive, inspirational leader, you need to know why you need any tools at all. The truth is that, left to its own devices, your ordinary mind is incapable of leading anyone anywhere - you're not even capable of leading your own life! So, for starters, we will explore the psychological facts that confirm that ordinary is not good enough and that extraordinary isn't just possible... it's only a couple of steps away. |
| Having a Vision |
As a means of complicating the simple, a lot on nonsense has been written and spoken about vision - to the extent that we've lost sight of what vision actually is. To focus your mind you've got to give it some idea of where you want to go. Your subconscious has got to get a feel for what that would look like, sound like and feel like. This workshop will explain the simple things you need to do to impress your own mind to the extent that you'll be able to impress all those whose support you need to meet your objectives. |
| Making an Impression |
If you're worried about making a good impression, you're not! Extraordinary leaders make and leave a deep impression because they are singlemindedly focused on what they are doing. They are all there. By contrast, the ordinary mind is all over the place. This workshop will explore the practical difference and will provide you with tools to develop your singleminded focus. You will practice these tools during the day. |

| Exciting, Motivating and Inspiring |
| Nobody was ever motivated by someone who appeared to be dead from the neck up. Sadly, as ordinary people, dead from the neck up is, from a psychological perspective, quite an apt description. What kind of person will others follow? One who is exciting, one who has presence, one who inspires. To be that person, you've got to start by exciting, motivating and inspiring yourself - every single day. In this workshop you will learn how to do this - you will start practising the steps straight away. |

| Fifty years research in the field of team dynamics suggests that 1% of management teams is not dysfunctional! Little surprise when you consider that each team member's head is all over the place. But what about the 1%? I've worked with a number of these extraordinary teams - people who think and behave beyond the ordinary. And they all have a couple of things in common: they're lead by an extraordinary leader; they know exactly where they're going; they've agreed a pact on what's appropriate behaviour and how they'll deal with inappropriate behaviour; they're open and honest and they're as fully focused as is humanly possible.
