You need to come to your senses - literally. You have five of them - use them and you might just find what you're looking for...

I am regularly contacted by people recommending the latest wonderful book that they’ve just read. Some have been suggesting books to me for a dozen years or more. But, here we are a dozen years later – and they’re still reading! And whilst their lives have undoubtedly moved on, whilst they have become more open-minded and content, many of them simply do not have the results they should have were they living what they’re reading.

Continually reading self help books is similar to reading all the brochures and guide books about a wonderful holiday destination. It looks great, it sounds great, you love the idea of going there, but you never take the journey. Indeed, many self help books are more like travelogues than guide books – yes, they’re feel good books that open your eyes to the possibilities of more effortless living – but they are the author's own experiences or others' anecdotes. You'll feel uplifted but they don’t tell you how to make the journey.

You cannot live life to the full until you make the journey yourself. All great journeys start with the first step – but a journey such as this, partially made, can end in more frustration and doubt than at the outset. You need to stay on the path. The path is simple. You need to present yourself to the here and now and, in doing so, open your mind to what the University of Chicago calls flow. You need to take one step at a time, in the only time you have – now. And, when you stumble, you simply get up and take the next little step. Then you will have concrete results to show for it. If you’ve no results, then you’re not taking the necessary steps.
