Stress and Reality | Are You on the Slippery Slope? | |||||||||
|
Feeling a little down at the moment? Perhaps, you’re just a little flat or not looking forward to something that you’d prefer not to have to do today. You’re on a slippery slope because if you, for one moment, entertain the thought that you might not be in tip top form, you have succumbed to a part of you that has absolutely nothing to do with reality. Because, if there’s a tinge of apprehension, a tingle of anxiety, the merest suggestion of stress, this is not you – it’s your personality playing its devious tricks on you. Sure, you’re used to not feeling on top of your game, in the peak performance zone all of the time – it’s normal to feel flat every-so-often. Yes, you’re right, it is normal and normal people are mad. Pull yourself together, come to your senses – see, feel, hear, smell and taste the reality of the moment, including that inner sinking feeling and realize it for what it is – you giving your attention to useless, self-destructive thought. Realize that the real you doesn’t feel anxious, cannot be stressed – that the real you is full of potential. Come to your senses, see this present moment for what it actually is – filled with potential, filled with the opportunities to which you will be blinded if you choose to continue to blindfold yourself with those useless thoughts. To realize the true potential of this moment you’ve got to do the right thing – and that is certainly not entertaining anything approaching the slightest twinge of feeling “off”. Turn yourself on – take five minutes now to make the rest of this day complete. Don’t and it’s your own stupidity. |
