FEELING FRAZZLED? COME BACK TO NOW | SURF'S UP - ARE YOU READY? | ||||||||||||
|
You think you’re challenged by what’s going on around you – in the economy, at work, in business, in your own life. All the ups and downs of life – and there are many – are not the challenge. The challenge is within. And the normal feeble mind – a condition that we all suffer from – is simply not up to the task. Not only that, but left to its own devices it will compound those apparent external challenges. What’s go on around you is nothing more than life’s big waves! Had you entered an ocean-going yacht race, you would have prepared yourself, trained hard and ensured that you would able to ride the big waves that come as part and parcel of such an event. But life is such an event – you know that for a fact – because you can see it all around you – life’s waves are crashing around, rolling over you, sometimes overwhelming you. But only if you let them. Life is as big and challenging an adventure as an ocean-going yacht race – but the normal person, by default, chooses to take part in an inflatable dinghy (often with holes in it). No wonder people sink. If you feel sometimes like you’re sinking – that sinking feeling is only in your head. Sure, you might feel down, you might feel victimized, caught in the eye of a storm. But that kind of attitude will get you drowned. You’ve got to be prepared to ride the surf of life’s big waves. That means that you’ve got to get up each morning and train hard. OK, you might only need five minutes to get your head in gear for the rest of the day but many people I know find even that to be hard going. But if you don’t bother getting yourself in ship-shape, you’re finished – and it’s your own fault, your own stupidity. So, how did you start today? Not only that, how are you feeling at the present moment? Because life, lived moment to moment, is in perpetual motion, just like the ocean’s big waves. So you don’t just have to wake up in the morning, you’re going to have to stay awake. |
