DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS! | HANGING ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH | ||||||||||
|
There’s an old saying that hanging concentrates the mind. But where is the point in waiting until the very last minute to get up off your ass to start living? Yet this attitude abounds – whether it be in sport where, all too often, those who are about to lose only start playing their best when it’s too late. I see it often in life, where people will only think about getting their priorities right when they’ve had a wake-up call. It could be a health scare – either personally or that of a loved one. It could be a bereavement – actual or impending. Hanging isn’t a good enough reason to concentrate the mind. You’re supposed to be living life to the full now. What did you leap out of bed for this morning? And if you didn’t leap out of bed, all excited about the day ahead, aren’t you the fool? What grip has your automatic pre-programmed subconscious mind got you in that you’re prepared to drag yourself out of bed, day in, day out? What kind of person are you that you’d settle for a life that isn’t replete with excitement and all good things? Give yourself a wake-up call without have one thrust upon you. Call yourself to attention. Give yourself a well and appropriately placed kick. Life is for living and if you’re not doing that, well then, you’re wasting the opportunity of a lifetime. |
