Today's Quick Tip - Pause, Notice and Choose |
We've all hit a natural high at some point - the kind of moment when you simply know that all is well. Of course, that feeling has nothing to do with the external world and everything to do with your state of mind. So, how's your state of mind right now? Stop what ever you're doing to consider this question. Notice how you're feeling and what you're thinking. Consider how far your current state might be from the ideal 'natural high'. You now have a choice. Stay as you have just found yourself or tune yourself into this present moment where all is, indeed, well. |

DOING WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING - NOW | FOCUS ON WHAT? | ||||||
|
Success and happiness is directly linked with focus. The abnormally successful possess an ability to be abnormally focused. For some that ability may be innate, it may come naturally. For most, it is learned - often driven by powerfully exciting goals. But those who have the kind of exciting goals that drive them forward are not focused on their goals - they are focused on what they are doing right here right now. That's what focus is. Focusing on your goals will leave you living in a dissatisfied state of permanent anticipation. And, of course, if you've never conjured up a goal that excites then there's little probability that you're going to get to where you can't see yourself going! We all need inherant motivation. It's how we are. But the goals or dreams - or however you phrase it to turn you on - should never be the point of focus as you go about your day. If they are, you're not all here and you will never be your effective best if you're not present. The key point that I'm making is that focus - like living life to the full - is a here and now thing.
