DOING WHAT YOU'VE GOT TO DO | MINDFULNESS SOLVES EVERYTHING | ||||||

Whatever your problems, real or perceived, whatever your own inadequacies - and they are invariably perceived rather than real - whatever life throws at you and whatever other people do to you, mindfulness solves everything. Yes, mindfulness is the solution to all your perceived ills, whatever their nature. All too often, it is our own mindlessness that creates our problems in the first place. We often make the wrong decisions mindlessly - even when, in our heart and soul, we already know we're making a mistake. Or we mindlessly react - after all, that is what reaction is - and make an already situation even worse. Remember, we are hard-wired to be mindless. If we were mindful of every single thing that we have to do throughout the day, we'd get very little done - but it would be done perfectly. So, the trick is to find the balance between the unimportnant things that you can do on auto-pilot and the mindfulness that you need when there is important work or play to be done. You can only strike that balance if you constantly remind yourself what it is like to me mindful and how that state of mind differs so enormously from the normal automatic state of mind. You've got to remind yourself every single day. Otherwise how are you going to use the most potent weapon for success and happiness that you have in your armoury - your own mindfulness? |
