Today's Quick Tip |
Wherever you are, whatevere you're doing, close your eyes for a few moments. Don't worry, nobody else will notice - they're going around with their eyes open seeing nothing! Take three deep breaths and feel what it's like to be alive. Understand that, regardless of what's going on or what you think is going on, each breath provides you with a new opportunity to start your life over. Life is lived in moments, the closer you align your perception to the reality of the moment, the more likely you are to live it. |

COULD YOU BE DELUDING YOURSELF? | ONE STEP REMOVED | ||||||||||
|
Life may appear difficult at times. In these challenging economic times it may appear to be even more difficult than at other times in the past. Yet you are just one step removed from being in greater control of your life, finding challenges easier to cope with and, indeed, even seeing opportunites where you could have been forgiven for believing that none existed. We distance ourselves from the reality of life by thinking. If you could stop thinking and start perceiving reality you would have taken the single step necessary to alter the course of your life for the better. You have done this before. Consider, for a moment, the key things that happened you or the key decisions that you made at some point in your life that brought you the good things that you enjoy or have enjoyed. At times - very often in our twenties - we seized opportunities without a care for the consequences. We fell in love and let the experience take us on our own personal joyride. We did things without thinking about them. Those were the lucid moments in our lives when we simply did rather than thought about doing. Your thoughts get in the way of experiencing and doing. You might think that it is necessary to think things through. But that, like almost all of the other 50,000 random thoughts that whizz through your head each day, would, in itself, be a useless thought that gets in the way of doing. Doing what? Doing what's right, doing what's best to get you to where you want to be in life. Doing what is takes to grasp the opportunities that you will only see when you stop thinking and start living. |
