HAPPY NEW YEAR? | EVERY NEW DAY IS A NEW START | ||||||
|
For many people, today is the first working day of 2012. It is the awaited golden opportunity to start behaving in just the way that is required to enable you achieve all the new things that you want to achieve this year. How are you doing so far? I know that I've already been distracted by nonsense whilst in the process of putting this morning's ezine together - and it's only 8.15am! The fact that we can be so easily derailed should not make for feelings that we cannot do what we've set out to do. Nor is it a valid excuse for throwing in the towel. Nevertheless, most people will have thrown in the towel on their new directions within six weeks of today. That's just a fact of normal living - we are built to constantly and consistently revert to our well-worn groove of going nowhere fast. However, that psychological fact is not e valid excuse either for throwing in that proverbial towel. The fact that we can be derailed so easily means that it is just as easy to re-rail ourselves. The only difficulty is this... are we focused enough to do it? Are we excited enough by the prospect of leading happier healthier lives to be committed? To persevere? It might be the first working day of the new year for you. But the truth is that every day is a new day from which we can (and sometimes need to) start from scratch. Indeed, if you're reading this half-way through a day that's gone from bad to worse, even now it is not too late to get today going in the right direction. |
