THE WASTE OF WORRY | COMMITMENT | ||||||
|
I've just asked myself the above questions! Why am I writing these words this Monday morning? The Ezine was originally conceived as a suppport for my clients - people who I've met face-to-face and people who have done or are doing my online workshops. And, as time goes by, it is proving to be even more supportive than I had envisaged over three years ago. For, even though I have been doing my workshops for over sixteen years (sixteen years and six days to be exact!), I have noticed an interesting development over the last three years. Many people with whom I've worked for years are making greater quantum strides that before. They tell me that even getting the email that accompanies the Ezine is a reminder for them to 'pull themselves together'. Some don't read the Ezine - the email is enough! My point is that my sending out an Ezine or two every week isn't what's making the difference - what I do, in fact, doesn't make the difference - it's what each of us does in our own lives that makes the difference. And what we do has to be done every day - a once-off workshop might open your eyes but the way we're hardwired ensures that they'll close again pretty quickly. What we need to change our lives is an ongoing, day-to-day, hour-to-hour, minute-to-minute, moment-to-moment commitment to be the change we want to see, to do the things that will take us where we want to go and do avoid doing all the things that waste our time, our energy and, ultimately, our lives. Only commitment - perseverance if you will - will get you to where you want to be (assuming that you know where that is!). Only being careful about how you use your time, how you manage your thoughts, even how you guard your tongue and how you invest your energy will ensure that you open your mind and eyes to the wonderful opportunities that life has on offer. And, over the last couple of years, I've been privileged to work with some people who are making that commitment daily and who, as a result, have seen their lives transformed - and I don't just mean in a 'feelgood' way - they can enumerate the actual results they've achieved. You know who you are - stand up and take a bow. |
