Last thing before you go to bed tonight, re-run the day just ending. Review it - as a disinterested observer - as if you were watching yourself on a TV.
Just watch, observe, don't judge or analyse. And, when you're done, just click that imaginary remote control and switch the TV off.
Is this living in the moment? No, it's not. But it clears your mind before you sleep, all the better equipping you to live in the moment when you awake.

WASTING YOUR ENERGY
Your success and happiness depends on whether or not you're 'all there' - in other words, are you present, have you bothered to turn up to your own life? Chances are your mind is somewhere else and that's a terrible waste of your energy. The energy that you put into truly living is the energy you get out. With that equation in mind, it's about time that you learned how to focus, how to pay attention and how to start living life to the full.
I had half suspected that, given the dose of 'reality' that has been administered to normal people at large as a result of the economic events of the last couple of years, people would have become a little more 'real' in appreciating the good things in life and disentangling themselves from their attachment to the badges of honour or phallic symbols that exemplify consumerism at its worst.
Not so - in chatting to a couple of people recently, it's apparent that their attachment to their toys is as strong as ever. One client aksed me what - and I quote - 'in God's name' was I doing driving a Fiat Punto when I picked him up from Geneva airport for a couple of days in the Alps! I explained to him that I had grown out of my need to drive a big car years ago and suggested to him that, if he believed himself to be half the man I knew he could be, he'd let go of his need to drive his flash car as a means of proving to those around him that he is successful.
I asked him how many of his friends would think the worse of him if he was driving a Fiat Panda. He replied that quite a few would think it very strange indeed. What's even stranger is that he should care about the views of such acquaintances. What's he trying to prove?
