Get up ten minutes earlier than usual tomorrow. Take ten minutes to clear your mind. Close your eyes, listen - just listen - to what you hear. Feel how it feels to be sitting in your chair - how it feels to breathe in and out. Still your chattering mind. A clear mind at the start of the day will transform what follows.

Holiday Activities
THINGS YOU COULD BE DOING
For many people August is holiday time. So, with a little time and space, can I suggest that you might invest a little time in yourself and your own state of mind. Here are a couple of suggestions:
Humans are often praised for their resilience - that we can endure almost anything. But, all too often, that same quality is our downfall. We are prepared to put up with the mediocrity of everyday life when we actually can do something transformative about it. I say mediocrity because, in comparison to the free-flowing life which we can have when we manage our own state of mind, the normal life is, at best, mediocre.
But, as I say, managing your state of mind can change all that. Unfortunately, our default state of mind is muddle, noisy, tending towards the negative and, most of all, subconsiously obsessed with a past that has little to do with today. The normal life is repetitive and anything that is repetitive numbs the mind and senses.
Managing our mind is done by, quite literally, coming to our senses - by the daily practice of paying attention to what we see, feel, hear, smell and taste. Hence this morning's Quick Tip. Breaking out of the cycle of mindless, repetitive living will have a transformative effect on you, your effectiveness, your efficiency, your happiness and success. Becoming mindful enhances nueral pathways in your brain that normally are only activated when we experience a natural high.
Choose to give yourself that high and see where it takes you.
