It doesn't matter whether or not you started the day focused, how focused are you now?
Stop, pause and reflect - not on the noise in your head or the things that other people are trying to drag you into. Stop and reflect on the reality of just this moment - what you see, what you hear and what it feels like to simply see and hear. Add nothing, take nothing away. Just be.
It doesn't matter if all hell is breaking loose around you. We regularly need to stop, turn the noise off and re-boot our minds.

CUTTING OUT THE NONSENSE
How much time and energy is wasted on debating things that get us nowhere. I recently came across a client who was paying his financial advisers a fortune - but most of the time they spent talking to him was taken up with bemoaning the current financial crisis - hardly what he was paying them for!
In a similar vein, I spent a couple of days with a senior management team recently who thought that they were, in fact, running a debating society. Decisions didn't matter - in fact the subject matter or agenda didn't really matter either - what mattered was the quality and, actually, the equality of the debate... everyone had to say their piece which, in the end, resulted in an hour of completely wasted time. I don't know about them, but I was pretty pi**ed of with their waste of my time!
What is it that we cannot cut to the chase - that we cannot just do what we have to do. I'm not suggesting that we become like robots - quite the opposite, in fact. That we wake up, just do the necessary, achieve loads and have a ball doing it. Surely something approximating to a definition of success!

How are you going to overcome distraction? It will never go away - you've got to learn to ignore it by paying attention to the reality of the here and now. Read the full article...
