How are you feeling right now? Has your day flown so far or is it dragging? Have you found yourself looking forward to this evening or the weekend or, worse, Christmas?!!! Looking forward - for better or for worse - is not living in the present moment! And your perception of time is relative to your state of mind. So, what state are you in right now?
And a Few More Thoughts!
INTRIGUED, EXCITED - YOU NAME IT WE CAN HAVE IT!
Today's video explores just how intrigued I am by those who are, through their own necessary efforts to develop the correct state of mind, experiencing flow in their everyday lives... every day. In fact, the word "Bliss" was used to describe just how wonderful life is for, in particular, one of those who participated in our little workshop in Dublin last week. OK, intrigued is not the word... actually I'm extraordinarily excited when I hear this kind of thing.
However, intrigued is definitely the correct word when I hear clients tell me that they have "fallen off the wagon" and are not meditating. Before we go any further, it's worth reminding ourselves that, as things stand, meditation is the only scientifically validated methodology at our disposal for getting the brain's key Central Executive engaged in our lives.
That being the case, you really do have to ask yourself why would anyone not continue meditating once they had started. Sure enough, it can take time (a little or a lot depending on the individual) to experience big results. Little results generally flow pretty quickly but the normal mind will tend to put these down to chance or coincidence so a long term commitment is required.
Of course, we all fall off the wagon from time to time and beating ourselves up about it is just the kind of ruminative useless thought that destroys our lives in the first place. But only an idiot would stop meditating for weeks or months on end! Only an idiot, armed with the understanding of what meditation can do (and does) to the brain's structures, would effectively say to himself or herself "I'm OK being OK and I don't really want all that life is actually offering me".
By the way...
And there are also still a couple of remaining places for the next available Dublin date for The Psychology of Success Workshop - Thursday Nov. 26 2015
