Last week I suggested that you think about and write about the kind of life you would ideally like to have... what it would be like to have it. That's how we best set our mind - but that is just setting the GPS... each mile, each kilometre has then to be travelled, mindfully. So, today, you need to take a step back, take a few deep breaths: smell the moment, inspire the moment, feel it, see it, hear it... come to your senses, experience the reality of the moment because it is in this very moment that you will take the next step on the road to where you want to go.
IF YOU'VE GOALS - DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM... TODAY
I know too many people who are waiting for something to happen - "I will do this when that happens", "I will start that next month when I've finished this". I know too many people with plans - "I plan to achieve this next year" - and somehow think that, now that they've got the plan in place, their work is done! When I started working for myself - doing what I'm still doing now 20 years later - some of my work involved helping organizations write their Strategic Plans. Soon enough, however, I stopped doing that work - I got fed up writing plans that were never implimented or, in some cases, were actually written with the intention of their never being implemented.
I know too many people who are given the kind of news none of us likes to receive... "You've got this that or the other form of cancer" and, then (and for some bizarre reason, only then) realize that their days are numbered. I know one good friend who had a very specific plan to do something with his life that was, in all reality, his hearts desire. He got the opportunity - took the easier option of taking on another "steady job" - and was then diagnosed with brain cancer... he died without ever having done a single thing - other than plan - to achieve his heart's desire.
And I know too many people who are not happy with where they find themselves at this point in their life - but have been experiencing that unhappy state for an unnecessarily lengthy amount of time - somehow crediting themselves with a superhuman resilience for putting up with their unhappiness... for putting up with something of their own doing. Because, everything is of our own doing - everything that we now have, are or experience is the culmination of all our doings or lack of doings up to where we now find ourselves.
If you have things that you want to achieve - do something about them today. If you've some grand idea but, for some reason, you fear the possibility that you might succeed, take a bold and brave step in the right direction today. Remember, "bold" and "brave" are just words that normal crazy people use to describe what extraordinary people know to be the next blindingly obvious thing that needs to be done... now.
