Now, I know straight away that, as I announce my new App, some of you will say "It's about bloody time" - and so it is (it is, to be fair, the last piece of a jigsaw that's taken over four years to put together).
Be that as it may, I am - today - announcing the launch of MYpsyberCoach... "My what?"... well, a visit to the App's website might just explain a little more - you can visit MYpsyberCoach.com here... And, as you might imagine, the App is not all about meditation - even though meditation is a key feature. There's more to mindfulness than the training... a lot more, it's called living!
Buying a new car can lead to all kinds of wonderful encounters - of the normal crazy kind - from the salesman with whom we'd had an exploratory conversation, 'phoning us incessantly (until we told him to go away!) to the guy who had asked me, when looking over our existing "model", why we had bought such a second-rate car!! Best of all, though, is the guy who started his (not very successful) sales pitch by asking us what we were doing in France: "You're English aren't you?" he started "No, we're Irish" we replied. "But what are you doing here?" - he was only short of asking for our "papers" - something that I'll come back to next week! Of course, none of this is to say that we failed to find a young, personable, gentlemen who looked after our needs... but the journey was worth the taking!
A Quick Tip
IGNORING THE BOMBARDMENT
We're constantly bombarded by thought - our thoughts and the behaviour of others which is just the product of their thought. We rarely simply do, we're always impeded by thought. Today, notice how your thoughts are getting in the way and, once noticed, let them pass. Everything passes - nothing more effortlessly than a thought which is a nothing until you give it your attention.
BET YOU YOU CAN GUESS WHAT'S COMING NEXT...
Last week we talked about defining success and how whatever turns you on is what turns you on - and that's cool... as long as it doesn't involve trampling over anyone else in the process!! But, as many of my clients explore what really turns them on, what they really want out of life and how they really would like their objectives to "turn out", I'm regularly confronted with one big question.
Let me put it like this. A couple of weeks ago, in chatting with a client, I asked her "How would you like this to turn out?" - we were talking about a particular issue and related objective. I suggested that she spend a while reflecting on what she really wanted to achieve and how she wanted to feel when she had achieved it. A week later, she said "I was about to write what I wanted down when it occurred to me - and your going to laugh at this - that what I want might be..." and she paused. I could have finished the sentence for her because I've heard it so many times before. But she finished it herself: "Unrealistic".
Your normal mind will always - always - think that anything really good that you want to achieve is unrealistic. "Unrealistic" is one of your normal little mind's big plays when it comes to tripping you up and doing you down. It comes from the same school of though (thought being the operative word) that pride comes before a fall, all laughing comes to crying and (the good old Irish Catholic one) if you enjoy this life, you're pretty much done for in the next!
The only bounds of "realistic" are obvious physical bounds - at 58yrs old, with a bad back and a couple of dodgy knees, I am never going to win Wimbledon. And my level of musculature (not sure if that's an English word - but the French one sums it up) is such that I will never be the Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World. But, basically, anything else is within the realm of realistic.
I always ask everyone about the things they want in an ideal world - the world "ideal" always suggests, to the normal mind, "unrealistic" - and that's why I don't want to be normal!
DO YOU WANT TO FOCUS? DO YOU WANT TO BANISH STRESS?
In one intensive but relaxed day, you will learn what is wrong with our normal neural "wiring" and how, as a result, our mind normally works against us. You will learn how to:
Purposefully focus - it doesn't come naturally, we're actually "wired" to not focus
Set goals in a way that energizes your subconscious into focused effortless action
Make your very best decisions and solve problems with ease - your brain can do this effortlessly
Banish stress - we're ordinarily "wired" to be stressed
