Give yourself the gift of time. Far too many people are always "running late" or "under pressure" - too many people tell me that there are not enough hours in the day. If there were 36 hours in the day there would not be enough hours in the day for normal crazy people! So, give yourself time: leave early for your next meeting; take time for lunch and have a proper lunch; get out for a few minutes walk to stretch both your legs and mind. You know how your days work - work some "me time" into them.
Every-so-often, we go in search of completely new clients and it is my far better half, Lisa, that makes the initial contact. Lisa is unusual - she likes Cold Calling!!! And, on occasion, it provides her with great entertainment and me with a new Normal Crazy People story. One of her recent experiences started with a recorded message: "To enhance our customer experience, your call may be recorded for training purposes". The 'phone was then answered "Yeah, hello" - no mention of the company name, no "Good morning", no "How may I help you"! Lisa asked if that was XYZ Ltd. "Yeah, whaddya want?" was the reply. Lisa asked for the person for whom she was looking. The reply "And who are you and whaddya want?" I think they need to do a lot of training!!

BEING MATCH-FIT
How you carry yourself doesn't just speak volumes to those around you, it affects how they carry themselves. How you behave or misbehave drives the behaviour of everyone around you. Your mood is contagious - for better or, by default, for worse: default because, on auto-pilot, our mood ensures that we are never-present.
But, you and I know that, to get the best out of life and give our best to others, we need to be ever-present. That's not something we have to think about or strive for, it's not something we need to plan to do in some structured way, it's not something we need concern ourselves with at all because, when you train yourself to be present when it doesn't matter, you end up being fully present when it does. If you want to make the right impression, have a positive impact, even have a good time with those around you, all you have to do is turn up - your own purposefully focused mind will do the rest.
That is why your mental training is so important, that is why your training should be done when it doesn't matter, in the private of a few minutes or moments with yourself. No professional footballer, tennis player or athlete, steps onto the pitch, court or track in front of a watching world and confronted by their competitors with the intention of training. Their training is already done in advance. When they step out to play their game, they're ready for it, match-fit. You need to be the same.
All too often, people tell me that they start meditating again when they find themselves in trouble and, whilst it's never too late to grab a hold of your own state of mind, that's certainly pushing the idea of "just in time" to the limits. You meditate when you're on your own so that you can be there for people when you're trying to make the right impression, do the right thing, have a good time. You mini-meditate of "check-in" with yourself in a quiet moment. You do all these things to be match-fit when you need to be match-fit. When might that be? All of your waking day - you never know when opportunity will come knocking!
DO YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO MANAGE YOUR MIND AND SET YOUR GOALS?
In one intensive but relaxed day, you will learn what is wrong with our normal neural "wiring" and how, as a result, our mind normally works against us. You will learn how to:
Purposefully focus - it doesn't come naturally, we're actually "wired" to not focus
Set goals in a way that energizes your subconscious into focused effortless action
Make your very best decisions and solve problems with ease - your brain can do this effortlessly
Banish stress - we're ordinarily "wired" to be stressed
