Pause. Listen. Notice each sound. Don't think about it, decide what might be going on or evaluate it in any way. Just hear it. Run the palm of your hand along any available surface - the table top, the seat of your chair. Feel. Don't think about it, don't let your mind's thoughts run away with you, just experience the feeling. Look. Look at something that's right in front of you. Look at it like you've never properly seen it before (which is probably true!). Don't judge what you're looking at, just see. Come to your senses because, otherwise, everything we perceive is based on our own stored nonsense.
Just finished the shopping for a couple of nice meals to celebrate our girls coming home, we were leaving the supermarket carpark, coming onto the roundabout onto the main road. At the top of the line, the car's driver's door flew open. Out leapt a man, looked to be in his forties, old enough to know better. He was in an uncotrollable temper, screaming at the passenger. Leaving the door open, he stormed off across the roundabout on foot and simply kept walking. The two cars in front of us - and ourselves - could just about squeeze out past the car that was now blocking everyone. In it sat a woman, also in her forties - just sitting quietly, almost peacefully, in the passenger seat. The driver behind us, however, was in a van - he couldn't squeeze out - so the whole line of traffic that was building up behind was stuck. We drove off and, after a couple of minutes, passed teh guy from the car, still marching away down the road, still in a temper. We don't know what happened next - but we do know that they were on their holidays - the time when you're supposed to be having fun!

POSITIVE MENTAL RESOURCES
As you'll know from various videos and articles on Gurdy.Net - indeed, on YouTube, there's a whole video series on goal-setting - you need to "set your mind" so that, as it becomes more present as a result of your mental exercising (aka meditation!) it will point you in the right direction, moment to moment, enabling you do the right things to get you to where you want to go. Effectively, your subconscious mind needs a "snapshot" that will captivate its attention and enable you almost experience the joy of success before the success in question has happened.
Funning thing is... most of the people with whom I talk have considerable difficulting in articulating how they would feel when they achieve one of their goals or, perhaps, some grand dearly-held goal. If you don't know how it would feel to achieve a key goal, you can't sufficiently "engage" your subconscious so that it will appropriately guide your actions.
So, as you go about reflecting on your goals and objectives - small, medium, large and grand - think about how you felt when you did experience success of achievement in the past. This last sentence assumes two things - the second is a fair assumption: that you've experienced success, happiness and achievement in the past - everyone has in some shape of form. The first assumption may not be reasonable though because, according to Harvard, most people never think about their goals or objectives - many don't even have any. And Harvard's research was done on their own graduates... imagine spending all that money to go to Harvard without knowing why!!!!
But I digress. You need to regularly reflect on what you want to achieve and what it will be like when you get there - in particular, how it will feel. Let your past experiences of achievement guide you. Despite the established fact that our subconscious mind will always pick a negative formative "snapshot" over a positive one, we all have "positive mental resources". Use them.
EXERCISE YOUR MIND AND POINT IT IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
In one intensive but relaxed day, you will learn what is wrong with our normal neural "wiring" and how, as a result, our mind normally works against us. You will learn how to:
Purposefully focus - it doesn't come naturally, we're actually "wired" to not focus
Set goals in a way that energizes your subconscious into focused effortless action
Make your very best decisions and solve problems with ease - your brain can do this effortlessly
Banish stress - we're ordinarily "wired" to be stressed
